On the seventh day...

Sundays are always a blessing! Today, Joshua Sciullo (1st year Candidate) and I taught our Sixth Grade CCD class the first creation account. And how beautiful it is to learn of the first day of rest as we devote this day to giving God praise for all that He given us.
Funny story: when asked why God rested on the seventh day, one student responded, "Because we work during the day and during the week, but we sleep and rest at night and on the weekends." Such a simple answer, but from the face of such an innocent sixth grader. Class is much different than the videos he enjoys playing, but he is one of our most faithful students. Thank God for our ministry and the chance to learn of the gentle love for God from the young!

As we continue on in our Sunday, let us give God all the glory for his wonderful works. But let us also thank him for the gifts he has given the young to prosper and lift up a society so very much in need! For example: the great gift of Jotta A., a twelve year old from Brazil:

Thanks to all you faithful blog followers. Your prayers and your presence are the reason Don Bosco's legacy lives on today. May his intercession give you strength this day to make a difference in your community.
