The HHS Mandate and the Resistance

Before I start any particular function in addressing this topic let me start of with a verse:

“Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings you have perfected praise, because of your enemies, that you may destroy the enemy and the avenger.” - Psalms 8:2

One of the greatest threats to society is the very existence of human life in the infringing hands of government officials in this day and age. As a kid growing in a country where the government in the local states was overruled with a lot of political controversies and corruptions, I have learned soon enough to never love politics. So when people usually criticize me that I am taking a strong political stance against abortion, I end up telling them that they have no idea who I am. My biggest concern after that law was passed, was the mere fact that the government leftists have planned to stop us with a full arbitrary force, going as far as to violate the first amendment of the United States constitution.

One of the greatest quotes of all time that touched my heart was this:
“The first direct, human limitation of infant life in the history of Christianity took place in the village of Bethlehem through an infant-controller whose name was Herod. The prevention of infant life was simultaneously an attack upon Divinity in the person of God made man, Jesus Christ our Lord. No one strikes at birth who does not simultaneously strike at God, for birth is earth’s reflection of the Son’s eternal generation.”  -  Archbishop Fulton Sheen (Three to get Married).

Here in this particular quote the famous Fulton Sheen describes the value of life in accordance to the image of God. After all we are made human beings in his image and likeness. The next point Sheen makes is to show how this is not the first time in history that the government wants to give into the limitation of human life. What is even more painful is the mere fact that the government wants to use this disposal  as a means of pest control. This is utterly painful to me because I have seen how formidable an opponent we have when it comes to that choice. As opponents lash onto every side and strike force on every way, in the midst of this paranoia we have the immovable walls of the Catholic Church. That no matter what Obama mandates or what his administration approves, the church will not  approve.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2270 states; “ Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” Whether the government today was saying one thing and then tomorrow approves another will never justify the means and morals of the defense of Human lives. As long as the church remains, she will be a mother to all infants, because from their lips are ordained the words of praise.
