As Catholics, we are walking contradictions. Day after day, we live out what the media and today's secular culture tell us is impossible. And I specify the culture as secular because it will remain secular until we, as Christians, convert our culture into what it was created for--to bring praise and glory to our Creator's name. O what power our lives could have if we preached Christ crucified with our actions!
So today, on this wonderful Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time, let us be mindful of our bishops and priests around the world continuing to stand up for what is right. In particular, let us be mindful of our bishops here in our own country that they might continue to be courageous in defending life and contradicting the proposed mandates of death! May our prayers and our mortifications be of strength to them this day.
Let us not live our lives in vain! Let us rise with our Savior! Let us ascend to Heaven with our lives! And He will welcome us into His Kingdom with open arms!
