Apostolates

My friends today is Friday and for many today is the day to just relax and not have to worry about school tomorrow. For us Salesian seminarians the weekend is also the days for apostolates. What is an apostolate? It is where we Salesians are sent to work for the youth on a weekly basis. I personally enjoy the weekends because of this reason. What I do and the rest of us Salesians do too is that we are sent to evangelize by doing something fun, playing sports or simple games and through friendships to point out the presence of God in our everyday lives. Our goal is to make of every place that we work at a home that welcomes, a church that evangelizes, a school that educates for life, and a playground where friends can meet. It is a very ambitious plan, but I have seen it work and more than that I have seen it enjoyed by those who come through. These are some of the works that we Salesians in formation are involved on: Don Bosco youth Center on Thursdays night and Friday nights in Orange NJ, and in St. Anthony’s Church in Elizabeth NJ, Salesian High School Oratory, Corpus Christi Church Oratory, and our media outreach. I ask you to please pray for us, so that we may continue to have the zeal to do our work and patience to bear the difficulties we may face with cheerfulness.
