Silent Martyrdom

Many of us today have a hard time being silent when wrong has been done to us, but when we read story of Saints, many of them suffered in silence, constantly offering their suffering for salvation of souls. I have been reading St. Faustina's diary, I cannot tell you how much she has played a role in my life, she has been teaching me to be more patient and to be more recollected, when others make me mad, instead of blowing up, I offer that anger or ill sentiment to God! and most importantly baring it joyfully! learning to find the good in any situation. But before I go on let me tell you, I am the worst when it comes to being silent, my personality it is naturally confrontational always feeling the need to be correct, in many ways this particular exercise is very hard for me, but it is the humility that we learn from silence, that i have been able to grow much closer to the Lord Jesus! You start becoming aware of the communion that the Lord Jesus wishes to have with you, which is so great! and in return we share the same love and joy to all meet, we become aware of how our presence is so important in the conversion of our brothers and sisters, because it is not through words, but by our actions that we will lead people closer to that communion with Christ. Through silence we recognize that we are sinners and not worthy of God's love and mercy, but lucky for us we have a God that is always thinking about us and longing to be with us, but we put the limit on his love and mercy! Let us learn to be silent in this advent as we wait for the coming of our Lord! Because baby Jesus was not born amidst a crowd of people, but in a manger in the silence of the night, and that's where we will meet Him also in the silence of our hearts and sufferings!
