What is that sound? The beautiful sound of God's glorious music! But what is this? No one can hear it?
How can this be! This must be altered, this must change! What can they hear? They listen and yet they hear nothing. It is in that perfect silence, that the most wondrous things can be heard.
One may listen for years, one may wait in total silence and never find it's beauty. But when one gives oneself, then and only then can it be heard. Prop your ear, block all sounds away. But until you seek silence within yourself, then you will find it locked away. Such a wondrous treasure.
None will find that sacred silence in God, unless you first allow God to enter you. No words describe, not even the wisest of us can tell. When it fall upon us, you know it well. Like waves upon a shore. Listening can bring the most perfect peace. Like the gentle wind stroking your face. The beauty of listening to the silence is incomparable.
Oh how busy we are, but to take a moment to bask in the beauty of listening. It becomes a little heaven on earth, a total connection to God. Then pulled from our chest is a relaxed sigh, like a well deserved rest. Many look for it, but none listen. Blessed be those who listen to God, for they will be happier than any other.

The Glory in listening to God

Scream, yell. Cast threats to your neighbors. Until you seek silence in God, you will never have that perfect song. No words describe, not even the wisest of us can tell. When it fall upon us, you know it well. Like waves upon a shore. Listening can bring the most perfect peace. Like the gentle wind stroking your face. Sacred Silence
Today, I realized the importance of not only defending my faith but learning how to defend it better. In one of my classes, in particular, I and others are learning to do so among many different beliefs, religions, and backgrounds. It is, of course, a blessing to be able to do such things freely in our country and in our schools. But my question to all is: Are we listening?
May this become our reflection this day--am I listening to what others are trying to convey to me? Am I immersing myself in the mystery of the Lord Jesus that I might come to know Him more intimately and more perfectly? Am I listening to the inner desires of my heart and the directing of my conscience?
It seems that these things are a key factor in discovering answers to the many questions others, including God, pose against us as to how we are living our lives and who we are living it for. Let us immerse ourselves in the silence and hear the stirrings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Amen!

Sacred Silence
Today, amid the beautiful weather and preparation for finals, the anticipation of Advent builds up within our hearts. If we place ourselves at the side of Our Lady, if we take her into our own as the Beloved Apostle did, we can feel Him stirring. He is anticipating us! But we must listen. It is in the silence that we can find Him kicking, find Him calling, find Him coming to us. Let us open our ears and our hearts to the Lord.
May this video of our men in formation help stir up in your heart a greater anticipation of the Lord's coming:

Silent Martyrdom
Many of us today have a hard time being silent when wrong has been done to us, but when we read story of Saints, many of them suffered in silence, constantly offering their suffering for salvation of souls. I have been reading St. Faustina's diary, I cannot tell you how much she has played a role in my life, she has been teaching me to be more patient and to be more recollected, when others make me mad, instead of blowing up, I offer that anger or ill sentiment to God! and most importantly baring it joyfully! learning to find the good in any situation. But before I go on let me tell you, I am the worst when it comes to being silent, my personality it is naturally confrontational always feeling the need to be correct, in many ways this particular exercise is very hard for me, but it is the humility that we learn from silence, that i have been able to grow much closer to the Lord Jesus! You start becoming aware of the communion that the Lord Jesus wishes to have with you, which is so great! and in return we share the same love and joy to all meet, we become aware of how our presence is so important in the conversion of our brothers and sisters, because it is not through words, but by our actions that we will lead people closer to that communion with Christ. Through silence we recognize that we are sinners and not worthy of God's love and mercy, but lucky for us we have a God that is always thinking about us and longing to be with us, but we put the limit on his love and mercy! Let us learn to be silent in this advent as we wait for the coming of our Lord! Because baby Jesus was not born amidst a crowd of people, but in a manger in the silence of the night, and that's where we will meet Him also in the silence of our hearts and sufferings!
