Sacred Silence

Today, I realized the importance of not only defending my faith but learning how to defend it better. In one of my classes, in particular, I and others are learning to do so among many different beliefs, religions, and backgrounds. It is, of course, a blessing to be able to do such things freely in our country and in our schools. But my question to all is: Are we listening?

May this become our reflection this day--am I listening to what others are trying to convey to me? Am I immersing myself in the mystery of the Lord Jesus that I might come to know Him more intimately and more perfectly? Am I listening to the inner desires of my heart and the directing of my conscience?

It seems that these things are a key factor in discovering answers to the many questions others, including God, pose against us as to how we are living our lives and who we are living it for. Let us immerse ourselves in the silence and hear the stirrings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Amen!
