We are Young

I remember that when I was younger around the age of a preteen, I had thought that to be a saint meant one had to be a strong and well known person. However, what I did not realize was that you did not have to be known very well or at all and still be a great saint. Like Saint Therese the little flower. She was not a doctor of the church, or a person that faught ardently against heresy, but she did combat the devil in her own holy way. My one favorite quality of hers is that she was an ordinary girl, but with an extraordinary love of God.

If we keep this in mind and follow not only her holy example, but the example of Saint Dominic Savio, then we will find heaven alot more attainable. Lastly, I would like to reflect on a relatively recent song called "We are Young" in this you could easily say that this song is simply about partying and getting drunk/high Not only is this true in regards to what they intended, but what is also true is that there is also a spiritual side to this song. For with the fire of the Holy Spirit we too can become saints, and then all we have to do is allow him to enkindle in us the fire of his divine love. Then after we have in us the fire of the Holy Spririt, we then will be able to help cure the chaos of the world through love.

(Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.)
